Ninety minutes west of Denver the fairways climb past 9,000 feet, drives fly 15% farther, and every green has a fourteener behind it. Summit County golf is seasonal, dynamic-priced, and unapologetically scenic: a Nicklaus 27 in Breckenridge, two Vail Resorts courses at Keystone, a Lehman/Hurdzan-Fry bruiser in Silverthorne. Pair it with a Front Range trip or make it the whole point.
Altitude9,000–9,700 ft - the ball carries 12–15% farther and the sun is brutal. Club down two, drink water like it's your job, and pack a rain shell every day.

Tiers are our editorial call: what's worth the green fee versus filler. Constraint badges are researched facts.
The county's championship test: 7,413 yards, 74.2/146, wetlands and aspens framing the Gore Range. The one Summit course that would headline anywhere.

When to go
Mountain courses open late May–June and close by mid-October, weather dependent. July–August is peak; June can still see frost delays. Afternoon storms build fast - morning times are insurance.
Getting around
Drive-in by design - 90 minutes from Denver via the Eisenhower Tunnel (watch Sunday eastbound I-70 traffic). One car per foursome; everything in the county is within 25 minutes.
Where to stay
Keystone condos put you between both resort courses; a Breckenridge house adds the best apres scene in the mountains; Silverthorne/Dillon hotels are the budget anchor near the Raven.
