Save my spotEight guys, $1,750 a head, three rounds, four days - this budget demands some honest math before anyone gets starry-eyed. Shadow Creek at $1,100-$1,250 per person would consume roughly 63-71% of the total per-person budget on a single round, blowing the 40% green-fee target entirely and leaving nothing for Cascata or Paiute. It stays on the wish list, not the card. Instead, the plan anchors on Cascata as the headliner (the most dramatic publicly bookable round in the market), bookends it with Paiute Wolf on the back half and Bali Hai as the easy arrival-day loosener. Green fees land in the $620-$980 per-person range, roughly 35-56% of budget, leaving serious room for suites, steaks, and whatever happens after midnight. Staying at an MGM property keeps Shadow Creek theoretically within reach if someone wants to upgrade their personal experience on Day 2, but it is not budgeted into this plan.
Weather: Historical norms for these dates: highs around 70°F, lows 49°F. Rain risk looks low.

Day 1 · Monday, March 15
Wheels Down, Shake the Rust Off
68° / 49° · wind 15 mphhistorical norm
Flights land, bags drop, and nobody wants a 7,400-yard Pete Dye exam on travel legs. Bali Hai sits minutes from the Strip and plays straight, wide, and forgiving - exactly the right gear to loosen up without punishing jet lag. Dinner on the Strip, early night, legs up.
Bali Hai
SolidThe Schmidt-Curley design is wide-open and visually busy enough to keep everyone entertained without demanding ball-striking you haven't warmed up yet. Ride-share from any Strip hotel in 10 minutes, no car needed, and the South Pacific theming makes for good group photos before anyone starts caring about score.
Par 71 · 7,002 yds · Slope 137 · Rating 74.1(real course data)
Off course Post-round drinks at Mandalay Bay's Libertine Social, then walk the south Strip to dinner.
Dinner Bavette's Steakhouse at Park MGM - great beef, no theater, no cover charge.
Day 2 · Tuesday, March 16
Cascata: The Headliner
70° / 51° · wind 14 mphhistorical norm
This is the round you flew in for. The 45-minute drive to Boulder City is part of the experience - the landscape goes full-canyon before you even see the waterfall coursing through the clubhouse. Save the legs, take a cart, and let Rees Jones's 151-slope routing punish overconfidence on the back nine. Rest in the afternoon; the city is waiting tonight.
Cascata
PremiumA 74.4 course rating on a mountainside carved from red rock - this is the round that earns the dinner story. The carries over desert waste areas off the tee demand respect, and the canyon backdrop on the par-3 4th is as dramatic as anything in this market. Morning light also means you beat the afternoon desert heat and get first cut on the greens.

Also in play for this slot
Wynn Golf Club$262 pricier · 25 min closer · 8 min away
An 18-hole resort course on the Strip itself - pure novelty, immaculate conditioning, and a 37-foot waterfall finisher.
Why Cascata got the nod: rated equal, ~$262 cheaper, 25 min farther.
Off course Afternoon recovery at the hotel pool, then Vegas nightlife.
Dinner Carbone at Aria - book 60 days out, the spicy rigatoni is not optional.
Day 3 · Wednesday, March 17
Dye Does the Desert
70° / 49° · wind 12 mphhistorical norm
Day 3 is the value gut-check that proves you don't need to spend four figures to play genuinely great golf in Vegas. Paiute Wolf sits 25 minutes north with Mt. Charleston as a backdrop, zero residential intrusion, and a Pete Dye island green on 15 that will decide at least two nassaus. Rent an SUV, bring extra sleeves.
Las Vegas Paiute - Wolf
StrongDye built the Wolf as the flagship of three courses on Paiute tribal land, and the lack of housing corridors makes it feel genuinely remote. The 15th island green is pure Dye sadism - short enough that everyone thinks they can fly it, windy enough that half the group won't. Best golf-per-dollar in the entire Vegas market and it isn't close.
Par 72 · 7,604 yds(real course data)
Off course Post-round, swing through the Paiute complex's other courses to scout for a future trip. Back on the Strip by mid-afternoon.
Dinner EDO Gastro Tapas & Wine in Henderson if the group wants a break from the Strip scene, or In-N-Out on the way back - no shame in that.
Day 4 · Thursday, March 18
Check Out, Head Home
72° / 47° · wind 11 mphhistorical norm
No golf today - never schedule 18 on a departure day when checkout, bags, and flight windows are fighting for the same three hours. Grab a proper breakfast, settle any debts, and get to the airport with margin. The recap conversation in the terminal is half the trip.
Off course Late checkout if available, breakfast at Eggslut in the Cosmopolitan.

Every round graded on the level, with the one-line verdict and what each one beat out.
Bali Hai
SolidSouth-Pacific theming at the south end of the Strip. Convenience is the product: walkable from Mandalay Bay, fine golf, big price. Pay for it only if logistics rule.
Cascata
PremiumA river runs through the clubhouse. Carved into a Boulder City mountainside, this is the most dramatic 'normal-bookable' round in the market.
What it beat
Shadow Creek - rated lower (premium), ~$787 cheaper, 12 min farther, no stay-to-play hoop.
Wynn Golf Club - rated equal, ~$262 cheaper, 25 min farther.
Las Vegas Paiute - Wolf
StrongThree Dye courses in the high desert with zero houses and Mt. Charleston views. Wolf is the headliner; the 15th island green is Dye doing Dye. Best golf-per-dollar in Vegas.
What it beat
Wynn Golf Club - rated lower (strong), ~$475 cheaper, 42 min farther.
Every course we considered and passed on (2)- so you never wonder what you missed
Stay-to-play: requires the affiliated lodging (must be a guest at an mgm resorts property to book; historically mon–thu for public-guest play with very limited weekend access). Different lodging choice, different trip.
~$650/round vs your ~$233/round budget. Swap it in if the group will stretch for it.

hotel
MGM Resorts property (Aria / Bellagio / MGM Grand)
Keeping the group in an MGM property preserves the option for any individual who wants to self-upgrade and book Shadow Creek through the concierge on Day 2 or 3 - that door closes completely if you stay off-Strip. Aria specifically has the suite inventory to handle 8 guys without everyone crammed into standard kings, and midweek March rates frequently land in the $200-$250 range. The Cascata and Paiute drives are the same from here as anywhere else on the Strip.
Why this matters Shadow Creek tee times are exclusively for MGM Resorts guests - booking here IS the course access.

Insider tips
The stuff that doesn't fit a box - altitude, traffic windows, and tee-sheet quirks.
- 01
Cascata books up fast for March weekends - call or book online the moment you hit the 90-day window. Don't wait for a group consensus text chain to sort itself out.
- 02
Paiute Wolf tee times go online through their website; morning slots on weekdays in March sell out by mid-January. Designate one person to book and collect payment later.
- 03
At Cascata, the slope is 151 from the tips - if your group has mid-to-high handicappers, play the appropriate tee box without ego. The course is challenging enough from the white tees.
- 04
Rent one SUV for golf days (Days 2 and 3) rather than ride-sharing 8 people in multiple cars. Enterprise and Hertz have desks at every major Strip hotel. Split 8 ways, it costs nothing.
- 05
Forecaddies at Shadow Creek are included in the fee - if any player self-upgrades to book it, tip $100 per bag minimum. Do not skip this; the caddie team is part of what you are paying for.
- 06
Las Vegas Paiute sits at roughly 2,800 feet elevation. Ball carries about 5-8% farther than sea level - club down by one on approach shots or you will be long all day.
- 07
For Cascata, the waterfall feature near the clubhouse entrance is not decoration - the creek genuinely comes into play on several holes. Local knowledge is: when in doubt, bail right.
- 08
Bali Hai's afternoon rates on weekdays are almost always cheaper than the published rack rate. Check their website day-of for dynamic pricing; groups of 8 can sometimes negotiate directly by phone.
- 09
If anyone in the group wants Shadow Creek, they must call the MGM concierge directly after the hotel reservation confirms - the waitlist fills within days of the 90-day window opening in December.
- 10
Pack sunscreen and a light wind layer for Paiute. The high desert north of Vegas has zero shade and the wind off Mt. Charleston can drop the feel-it temperature by 15 degrees by mid-morning.
